Ardevora's Lang: The UK equity threats that matter (and those that don't)

Ardevora co-founder and partner Jeremy Lang addresses five of the biggest concerns facing UK equity investors in current markets.

It is in the nature of most investors to scrutinise perceived risks to their portfolios, but at times this can lead to an obsession with a small number of scenarios. "When making investment decisions, debates in the wider market can collapse on to just a few things that people are focused on and this contaminates the view of everything," said Ardevora's Lang (pictured). However, the manager pointed out it is not what investors hold, but what they avoid that really counts. "Our best calls have been the stuff we have been avoiding, that is one of the biggest lessons I have learned. ...
