How popular will multi-asset funds really be in new era for pensions?

An investor survey conducted by Legg Mason has revealed only 15% of UK investors are looking to buy a multi-asset fund upon retirement.

The investment firm polled 4,208 investors across 20 different markets to gauge their investment plans post retirement. In the UK, the changes to the pensions landscape from 6 April mean pensioners now have greater freedoms in investing their money post-retirement. Many fund managers have been launching multi-asset income funds in anticipation pensioners will be looking for income-producing products as an alternative to annuities.
