Close Brothers buys Scottish IFA

Close Brothers Asset Management has acquired financial planning firm Mackay Stewart & Brown.

Close has acquired the Edinburgh-based group for an undisclosed sum. Among its senior staff are managing director John Mackay and private client director Sue Hussin. Andy Cumming, head of advice at Close Brothers Asset Management, said the acquisition will strengthen the group's integrated wealth presence in Scotland. "We are keen to hire more high-calibre financial advisers as we aim to be the ‘go-to firm' for professional integrated wealth management," he said.
