Former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke has taken a position as a senior adviser at PIMCO.
Bernanke, who was Federal Reserve chair from 2006-2014 prior to being succeeded by Janet Yellen, will join the firm as a senior adviser. The former central bank head, whose comments about a possible end to the Fed's quantitative easing programme prompted the 'taper tantrum' of 2013, will contribute his economic expertise to the firm's investment process.
