Update: RWC assembles 24-strong team to join EM rush

RWC has joined a raft of asset managers bulking up to launch emerging market equity strategies, ahead of a possible turnaround in investor appetite for the asset class.

The group has appointed a 24-strong team from beleaguered US hedge fund Everest Capital, which joins with $1.3bn of assets under management. RWC has opened new offices in Miami and Singapore and is set to launch emerging markets long/short and Asian long-only UCITS products for the incoming team, led by John Malloy and James Johnstone.  Malloy is primarily responsible for the emerging market portfolios and will be backed up by his co-portfolio manager, Thomas Allraum.
