Tilney Bestinvest recruits ex-FSA boss Tiner

Tilney Bestinvest has strengthened its board with the appointment of former Financial Services Authority chief John Tiner and Betfair CEO Breon Corcoran as non-execs.

The pair, whose appointments are subject to FCA approval, will provide regulatory and digital insight to the company, the wealth manager said. Tiner (pictured), who was appointed chair of Towergate Insurance last month, was chief executive of the FSA between September 2003 and July 2007 before being succeeded by Hector Sants. He subsequently held the position of chief executive at insurer Resolution between September 2007 and 2013. Corcoran, meanwhile, joined Betfair in 2012 having spent a decade at Paddy Power.
