It has been several weeks since Jason Pidcock announced he is leaving his post as manager of the Newton Asian Income fund, after a decade at the helm, to set up a similar strategy for Jupiter later this year.
During that time, some investors may have been reconsidering their options for Asian income exposure - should they stay with Newton or move on elsewhere? Newton's fund has already suffered £350m outflows in May, shrinking to £4.1bn as some holders rushed for the exit following news of the manager's departure. A fund that may have hit fund buyers' radars is the Guinness Asian Equity Income fund, run by Edmund Harriss (pictured) and offering a historic yield of 4.1%.
