Aberdeen acquisitions head to retire after 28 years

Aberdeen Asset Management's head of acquisitions Hugh Little is to retire from the business after almost three decades at the fund house.

Little, who joined the group in 1987 as its ninth employee, began as head of acquisitions but spent a large part of his early career working at Aberdeen’s private equity division, heading the unit from 1990 to 2006. He then returned to the M&A role, helping oversee the fund group’s return to dealmaking prominence, not least through its £650m acquisition of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership last year.
