HMRC has widened the range of investments available through ISAs to include peer-to-peer lending trusts.
The Chancellor announced peer-to-peer loans would be allowed in ISAs in his 2014 Budget. However, investment trusts invested in peer-to-peer lending were not eligible. HMRC has now made the decision to drop restrictions on these types of investments, after lobbying from groups including the Association of Investment Companies (AIC).
