Macquarie Investment Management (MIM) has appointed Austin McBride, formerly of Ignis Asset Management, as its head of UK wholesale, Investment Week can reveal.
McBride had been head of UK wholesale at Ignis since 2008, prior to its takeover by Standard Life Investments last summer, when he left the group. SLI's £390m takeover of Ignis last year was followed by a raft of senior staff departures as the new owner undertook a major restructure of the business. Prior to his role at the Glasgow-based firm, McBride held senior positions at Lazard Asset Management, Janus International and Henderson Global Investors.
