Will Landers, manager of BlackRock's Latin American investment trust, said he has adopted a defensive but more flexible investment approach as the region continues to struggle.
The manager (pictured), who has run the £128m trust for nine years, said the problems in Latin America were even more severe than during the financial crisis for the region's markets, prompting his defensive positioning. "I am as defensive as I have been since I took over the trust, even compared to 2008. That was not so much of an issue for emerging markets. This time, the challenges are self-made issues and are playing out locally."
