The IA Japan sector is home to the most consistent fund performers over the past three years, according to the latest research by F&C's multi-manager team.
The latest quarterly Fund Watch survey, published by the team co-headed by Gary Potter and Rob Burdett, found around 4.2% of funds in the 12 major Investment Association sectors achieved top-quartile returns consistently over the past three years. This is an increase from the 2.8% of funds which achieved that figure in the first quarter of the year, and just below the historic peak of 5%. The data was partly helped by the volatile second quarter of 2012 (which included a Greek election and growing fears of a European banking crisis) dropping out of the three-year time horizon.
