A study by Henderson Global Investors has found the majority of investors supported performance fees on funds, despite an industry-wide trend for scrapping them.
The research, conducted by the firm's investment trusts team, found 56% of "seasoned" investors thought performance fees are a positive incentive for fund managers. In contrast, only 19% of the 1,000 people asked said performance fees would put them off investing in a fund. The researchers consider "seasoned investors" to be UK adults with more than £10,000 invested in various investment products.
