New Capital, a subsidiary of EFG Asset Management, has hired former Hermes UK small caps manager John Leahy to launch a new UK equity fund.
Leahy is a specialist UK fund manager and ran smaller company strategies at Hermes Investment Management for 14 years, before leaving the group in January. He will be based in New Capital's London office and will manage a dedicated UK equity fund, which will be launched to complement the New Capital fund range. In his previous role Leahy ran the Hermes UK Small and Mid Cap UCITS funds. He joined the firm as an analyst in 1998, having previously worked at London-based group G.
