Italy's largest asset manager Generali Investments is the latest European group to plan an expansion into the UK wholesale market.
The firm runs €374bn in assets under management, three quarters of which is managed in various fixed income strategies, including sovereign debt, high yield and unconstrained bonds, with the remainder in equity and absolute return funds. Generali Investments, which operates primarily in Italy, Germany and France, now plans to make its existing Luxembourg-domiciled SICAV range of some 40 funds available to UK investors.
