Baillie Gifford has announced that John MacDougall, global equities manager, will be appointed partner in May 2016.
The group will also appoint Tim Garratt, director in the clients department, as a partner in the business. MacDougall's (pictured) appointment comes after he stepped down as manager of the Shin Nippon trust in October, to be replaced by Praveen Kumar. He also handed over his responsibilities for the £272m Japanese Smaller Companies fund to Kumar, as he moved to a global equities role. He remains deputy manager on the £216m Edinburgh Worldwide investment trust, alongside lead manager Douglas Brodie.
