Former Sanlam UK chief executive Lukas van der Walt has stepped down from the firm after 12 years.
He will formally leave the group on 29 February but will continue to serve as a strategic consultant for the firm, advising on development and M&A. Van der Walt (pictured) was instrumental in establishing the South African firm's presence in the UK, acquisitions of firms such as FOUR Capital Partners and initiatives with Nucleus and Intrinsic. His departure is part of an ongoing senior management restructure at the firm which saw former Ashcourt Rowan chief executive Jonathan Polin become chief executive of Sanlam UK.
