Stewart Cowley takes chairman role at Avellemy

Former Old Mutual Global Investors' fixed income head Stewart Cowley has joined Avellemy, Bellpenny's sister company, as chairman of its investment committee.

Cowley (pictured) left his role at OMGI last June after six years, leaving behind his Old Mutual Strategic Bond and Managed funds. He set up consultancy firm Northfield Strategic Advisors the following month, providing investment advice and portfolio management to advisers and fund groups. In his new role at Avellemy, he will chair quarterly investment meetings and implement strategies to drive efficiencies within the firm's risk-targeted portfolios.
