Downing adds multi-manager fund to range after takeover

Renamed to Diversified Global Managers

Downing is adding a multi-manager fund to its range after finalising a takeover of the MFM SGWM Managed fund and bringing over its former manager Neil Shillito.

The fund will become part of the Downing range on 1 February and will be renamed the PFS Downing Diversified Global Managers fund. The boutique said the new name better reflects its investment style, offering a well-researched, focused and active multi-manager approach. Shillito, former lead manager on the portfolio, has been hired by Downing as an investment consultant supporting the five-strong public equity team, including Judith MacKenzie (pictured), Downing's head of public equity and manager of the PFS Downing Micro-Cap Growth fund.
