BlackRock is planning to launch a strategic bond fund to be managed by Ben Edwards, Investment Week understands.
The fund, which is set to be launched in Q2, will be a UK-focused total return credit portfolio and aims to generate income. It will consist of global investment grade and higher quality high-yield bonds and will have the flexibility to add alpha. Edwards (pictured), who currently manages the group's £377m Corporate Bond fund, has been managing a strategic bond paper portfolio with manager Simon Blundell.
