Franklin Templeton launches absolute return bond fund

Available to UK investors in April

Franklin Templeton Investments has launched a flexible bond fund designed to offer absolute returns in the current difficult fixed income markets.

The Franklin Alpha Bond fund, a sub-fund of the Luxembourg registered Franklin Templeton Investment Funds, will be available to UK investors in April subject to FCA approval. It aims to provide attractive absolute returns through a combination of current income and capital appreciation in excess of 90-day US dollar LIBOR over a full market cycle.  Co-managers Michael Materasso and David Yuen will have the flexibility to invest across all sectors of fixed income within any country, sector, quality, maturity or duration, and without reference to a benchmark index.
