Tilney Bestinvest has hired Alan Edwards in the newly-created position head of investment management for England.
He joins Tilney Bestinvest from Julius Baer where he worked as managing director. Prior to this, he was head of Barclays Wealth's regional business in Manchester and Liverpool. Edwards will take responsibility for the firm's investment management teams based in London, Liverpool and Birmingham and also sit on the executive board. His appointment follows the firm's planned acquisition of Ingenious Asset Management, which was announced in February. Upon completion, Tilney Bestinvest will have £11.2bn in assets under management.
