SSGA poaches LGIM's Harding for senior research role

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Julian Harding, previously at LGIM, as managing director and global head of core beta research.

In his new role, Harding will be based in London, reporting to Richard Hannam, EMEA head of global equity beta solutions.

Harding has more than two decades of professional experience in managing equity and fixed income, derivative and currency portfolios.

Which parts of your portfolios are invested in passives or smart-beta strategies?

In his previous role at Legal & General Investment Management, he was director, responsible for the index equity and fixed income portfolio management teams.

He has also held positions at First Quadrant, PwC and Prolific Objective Asset Management.

Hannam commented: "We are delighted to welcome Julian to our team. His appointment brings a depth of knowledge which will further develop our offering in the equity indexing market."
