PIMCO has retaliated against former manager Bill Gross' lawsuit, saying he knew he would lose his $200m bonus if he left the firm before the end of Q3 2014.
Gross (pictured), co-founder and former fixed income manager at PIMCO, left the firm in September 2014 to join Janus Capital and has since filed a lawsuit against PIMCO alleging he was wrongfully dismissed. PIMCO has described these claims as 'legally groundless' and tried unsuccessfully to get the case thrown out of court.
