The Investment Association has appointed TheCityUK's founding chief executive Chris Cummings as its new CEO, replacing interim CEO Guy Sears.
Cummings (pictured) was appointed unanimously by the board of the Investment Association, whose members manage a combined £5.5trn in assets. He joins from TheCityUK, which he founded in June 2010 after spending seven years as director general at AIFA, the trade body for financial advisers. He will be replacing Sears, who became interim CEO of the Investment Association five months ago, following the departure of former chief executive Daniel Godfrey last October.
