AXA Framlington's Peirson to retire after 23 years

Jamie Hooper to take over fund

Richard Peirson, co-lead manager of the £955m AXA Framlington Managed Balanced fund, is retiring from his role in March 2017, with Jamie Hooper then taking over the management of the fund, Investment Week can reveal.

Peirson (pictured), who also manages several segregated mandates, will remain in his role until his retirement in March next year. He relinquished some responsibilities on the fund at the end of last year as part of a long term succession plan, but remained responsible for the fund's overall asset allocation decisions. Jamie Hooper was promoted to co-lead manager of the AXA Framlington Managed Balanced fund, in preparation for taking over the leadership of the fund altogether at a later date.
