New City's Cleland: Why 'big change' for miners has created opportunities

The managers of the City Natural Resources High Yield trust have returned to mining companies for the first time in almost three years on the vehicle, highlighting significant changes are being made within the sector.

Managed by Ian Francis, Keith Watson and Robert Crayfourd from New City Investment Managers, the investment trust arm of CQS which manages five strategies investing in different natural resources sectors, the £114m High Yield trust pools the team's best ideas from across these areas.   The range has benefitted from the recent commodities rebound, with the City Natural Resources High Yield trust up 16.5% year-to-date in share price terms.
