James Hackman, new manager of the £307m Neptune US Opportunities fund following the departure of Felix Wintle, has begun reshaping the portfolio to incorporate a new investment philosophy and expects the process to be completed in the coming weeks.
The manager (pictured), who has also been promoted to head of US equities, has started making changes to the fund to reflect the 'CompoundEdge' investment philosophy, which he has been developing with co-manager Patrick Close over the past three years. The process of repositioning the fund will temporarily increase turnover to around 60%, but Hackman said the new investment process will ensure lower portfolio turnover over the long term.
