FCA appoints Butler permanent investment supervision head

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed Megan Butler as director of supervision - investment, wholesale and specialists (SIWS) in a permanent capacity.

She had been in the role on secondment, which started in September, from the Prudential Regulation Authority where she was executive director of International Banks Directorate. Butler (pictured) first joined the financial services regulator - then the Financial Services Authority (FSA) - in 2000. From 2008 she was a supervisor at the regulator, before becoming head of the department responsible for the supervision of the UK operations of major investment banks.
