Former HSBC GAM absolute return head joins Newscape Capital

Newscape Capital Group has hired Charlie Morris, formerly head of absolute return at HSBC Global Asset Management, as head of multi-asset.

Morris (pictured) joined Newscape Capital in June in the role of head of multi-asset, over a year after leaving his role at HSBC GAM. The specialist investment and advisory firm was founded in 2008. At HSBC GAM Morris spent some 17 years working in the absolute return division, having co-founded it in 2002, and was head of absolute return, running some $3bn worth of assets. He was also lead manager on the HSBC Wealth Opportunities fund and manager of the HSBC Global Trend fund from 2005-2009.
