HSBC GAM hires frontier markets manager to replace Brudenell

HSBC Global Asset Management has hired Ramzi Sidani as lead portfolio manager for its Frontier Markets Equity strategy.

Sidani will replace head of frontier markets Andrew Brudenell who left HSBC GAM last year to join emerging market specialist Ashmore. In the interim, the fund has been run by Chris Turner as lead manager alongside a wider investment team. Sidani joins from SHUAA Asset Management in Dubai where he managed the firm's frontier and MENA capabilities.
