Freedom AM signs European distribution agreement for first Asian fund

Freedom Asset Management, a firm launched by a former Renaissance Asset Management team, has signed a distribution agreement for its first Asian fund as it converts to a UCITS structure.

CIM Investment Management is using Freedom's services to distribute its flagship fund, CIM Dividend Income, which is now established in Ireland as an ICAV. Freedom has been appointed the sole distributor of CIM's fund across Europe. This $100m Asian dividend-focused strategy launched in 2001 as a BVI structure, with the aim of producing an annual income of around 6%. The fund is run by James Morton, who is also chief investment officer of CIM's affiliate Santa Lucia.
