Allianz GI merges away Energy fund as former manager joins T.Rowe Price

Allianz Global Investors is to merge its Energy fund into the Interglobal fund, as former manager Chris Wheaton joins T. Rowe Price.

Wheaton (pictured) left the company in August after 11 years, including nine years as manager of the €50m Allianz Energy fund. He has now joined T. Rowe Price this month as an analyst covering global oil majors and the European oil & gas sector. His former Allianz fund has since been taken over by Rohan Murphy but the firm has said it will now be merged with the Allianz Interglobal fund, managed by Lucy Macdonald, from 30 November.
