Which global trusts have the highest exposure to US in run-up to election?

The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) finds out how exposed trusts in the Global and Global Equity Income sectors are to the US and whether the upcoming Presidential Election has had any impact on their positions.

On average, the AIC Global and Global Equity Income sectors have 36% and 22% exposure to North America respectively, but some trusts have more than half of their assets in the region. Tom Walker, manager of the £214m Martin Currie Global Portfolio trust has the largest exposure to the US compared to his AIC Global sector peers, at 59%. This includes Facebook (3.6%), Visa (3.5%) and Apple (3.3%), all of which are leading names in their respective industries and feature in the trust's top ten holdings.
