Carmignac: Donald Trump is 'egregiously unqualified' for US presidency

Edouard Carmignac, chief executive of Carmignac Gestion, has described Donald Trump as "egregiously unqualified" to be US President, while voicing his concerns the current wave of support for populist parties around the world is set to continue.

In a letter to investors, Carmignac (pictured) said he disagrees with commentators who suggest that Trump's "unhinged" presidential campaign come mark the end to the rise of populist parties, adding that he fears the Western world's "values and well-being are under attack". "The Republican Party's very choice of a candidate so egregiously unqualified to head the world's leading power is cause enough for concern," he said.
