Principal has brought its real estate strategy to the UK through the launch of a UCITS-compliant Real Estate Debt fund.
The Irish-domiciled Real Estate Debt fund is managed by Principal Real Estate Investors, and co-managed by Marc Peterson, Jason Haigh, and Scott Carson. Principal Real Estate Investors has been investing in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) for a variety of institutional investors since 1997, growing its CMBS AUM to $9bn, but this launch marks the first time the team's strategy will be available to UK investors.
