Lombard Odier hires eight-strong team for 'niche' UK small-cap offering

Lombard Odier Investment Managers has hired the Volantis investment management team from AlphaGen Capital to manage a UK small-cap strategy.

The eight-strong Volantis team currently manage more than £810m in UK equity long/short and long-only strategies. However, AlphaGen is adapting its business model to focus more on liquid and scalable strategies. At Lombard Odier IM, the team will join the existing 1798 hedge fund strategies platform to manage a niche strategy focusing on UK small caps.
