Following the surprise victory of Donald Trump in the US Presidential Election, Neil Woodford, founding partner and fund manager at Woodford Investment Management, has advised investors to revert to lessons learned from June's Brexit vote and avoid overreacting to initial market volatility.

We have had our fair share of political shocks recently but this one, arguably, trumps them all. I am surprised that Donald Trump has emerged as the winner of the US presidential election - not many people saw it coming.
