Nick Train, manager of the £2.1bn Lindsell Train Global Equity fund, has forecast further M&A globally after seeing deals worth $595bn during October.
The manager, who works on the fund alongside Michael Lindsell and James Bullock, said he expects to see more M&A activity in the last months of this year. So far this year has seen $4.1trn worth of global deals, including $595bn in October alone, the fourth-biggest monthly figure in history. If this rate is maintained, 2016's total is expected to come in at 90% of the figure seen in 2015, but Train said this is still a considerable amount given last year saw a record $5.6trn worth of deals.
