BNY Mellon launches global short-dated high-yield fund

BNY Mellon Investment Management has launched the Global Short-Dated High Yield Bond fund for Ulrich Gerhard, senior portfolio manager in Insight Investment's fixed income team.

The fund is based on an existing low-volatility strategy offered by Insight Investment, which aims to withstand widening spreads and changes in interest rates. Gerhard will use an actively managed approach to provide enhanced Libor-plus returns by investing primarily in a portfolio of short-dated high yielding bonds alongside positions in convertibles, loans, and asset-backed securities, and through selective selling of credit default swap protection.
