OMGI fixed income head Johnson exits amid strategic review

Hands funds to co-managers

Christine Johnson, head of fixed income at Old Mutual Global Investors, is to depart the firm after seven years following a two-year strategic review of the fixed income team.

Johnson (pictured) joined the firm in 2010 but has reduced her fund management duties over the past two years to focus on team management. OMGI, part of Old Mutual Wealth, said it had been mutually agreed with  Johnson that the role of head of fixed income is no longer required. The two funds on which Johnson retained co-management responsibilities will continue to be run by the current co-managers: the Old Mutual Monthly Income High Yield Bond fund will be run by Bastian Wagner with Tim Barker appointed as co-manager, and the Old Mutual Monthly Income Bond fund by Tim Barker.
