Treasury Select Committee chairman Andrew Tyrie has announced his decision not to run for re-election in the upcoming General Election.
Tyrie has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chichester since the 1997 General Election, and took up the role of chairman of the Treasury Select Committee on 10 June 2010. He was also previously special adviser at HM Treasury and is currently a council member of the Centre for Policy Studies. He has announced his plans not to run for re-election in the snap General Election on 8 June. Prior to the EU referendum, the MP was opposed to Brexit and throughout his tenure he clashed frequently with the Bank of England and former Chancellor George Osborne. UK and European Elections...
