Hermes appoints research director to help tackle MiFID II

Hermes Investment Management has appointed Orla Murphy for its newly-created role of research director ahead of the looming MiFID II deadline.

Murphy will oversee the procurement of equity and credit research from brokers and independent research providers for the group's investment teams.  She will also be responsible for establishing, reporting and linking research value, managing the research budget, transaction cost analysis and any MiFID II issues. Based at the company's headquarters in London, Murphy will report to Hermes IM's head of investment Eoin Murray.
