BNP Paribas has hired Simeon Tsonev as currencies portfolio manager, a newly-created role within its emerging markets fixed income team.
Tsonev will be responsible for decisions regarding EM currencies, reporting to Bryan Carter, head of emerging markets fixed income at BNP Paribas, and be based in London. BNP Paribas hires global head of sales from Deutsche Bank The 11-person team, which was restructured by Carter last year, currently manages more than $2.7bn. It consists of specialists in sovereign credit, corporate credit, local rates, EM currencies and frontier markets.
