Investec AM hires Columbia Threadneedle's Evans to run UK Small Cap fund

Matt Evans, co-manager of the Threadneedle UK Smaller Companies and Threadneedle UK Mid 250 funds, will join Investec AM after the summer to manage its £340m UK Smaller Companies fund, which will become part of the group's Quality range.

Evans will join his former Threadneedle colleagues Simon Brazier and Blake Hutchins to become the 20th member of the Investec Quality Team, which is led by Brazier and Clyde Rossouw. The Investec UK Smaller Companies fund will also now switch from being run using the group's 4Factor approach to the Quality Team, which will lead to changes on the portfolio as Evans implements his new strategy. Current managers Ken Hsia and Calum Joglekar will stay at Investec AM within the 4Factor team, but will focus on their European Equity fund.  Investec AM's 4Factor Equity investment framework ...
