Luke Biermann, who was recently announced as the new manager of the £622m Schroder UK Dynamic Smaller Companies fund, believes running the strategy alongside his £170m European Smaller Companies fund is "very achievable", as he is already familiar with a number of companies in the portfolio.
The manager will take over the fund after a transition period from Paul Marriage and John Warren, who are set to leave Schroders in Q4 to start up their own business, Tellworth Investments. They will continue to run the Schroder UK Dynamic Absolute Return funds through their new venture. Biermann has been manager of the Schroder European Smaller Companies fund for more than five years, working alongside Andy Brough and the wider UK and European small- and mid-cap team at Schroders.
