Newton to make Global Balanced fund available to intermediary market

Targets interest in mixed-asset funds with higher return potential

Newton Investment Management is set to launch an adviser share class for its £647m Global Balanced fund, run by Simon Nichols.

The move follows increased intermediary interest in mixed-asset funds with higher return potential, according to the group. Newton already offers advisers and wealth managers access to the £2.6bn Multi-Asset Balanced fund, managed by Iain Stewart and Matthew Brown. However, the strategy, which sits in the IA Mixed Investment 40-85% Shares sector and  has around 30% in bonds and cash, was found to be too cautious for some Newton clients. The Global Balanced fund, managed by Nichols, is top quartile over three years in the Mixed Investment 40-85% Shares sector, with a return of 33.5%...
