Deutsche Bank has launched a research division within its asset management arm in response to growing regulatory pressures that are driving groups to reduce their reliance on external research providers.
According to the Financial Times, the launch of Deutsche AM's research division is tied to the plans to partially sell off the asset management arm before the end of 2018. The Research Institute's aim is to help Deutsche AM's fund managers to identify investment opportunities and provide clients with analysis of economic developments. It will be led by Stuart Kirk, formerly head of thematic research within the markets division of the firm's investment bank.
