BNY Mellon subsidiary Newton Investment Management has appointed UBS Global Asset Management's group managing director and head of investment solutions Curt Custard, who previously held a senior role at Schroders, to the newly-created role of CIO.
Custard joins amid a senior management restructure under CEO Hanneke Smits, as the firm targets business growth across the US, EMEA and Asia. Prior to UBS, where he has worked since 2007, Custard was global head of multi-asset at Schroders and CIO for the multi-asset business at Allianz Global Investors. The restructure also sees global head of distribution Julian Lyne promoted to chief commercial officer, responsible for overseeing client relationships, while Andrew Downs and James Helby remain as COO and chief risk officer respectively.
