Schroders hires global equities manager from Union Investment

Schroders has expanded its global equities team with the appointment of Frank Thormann as a portfolio manager.

At Frankfurt-based Union Investment, Thormann (pictured) was a senior portfolio manager with responsibility for the UniFavorit Concentrated Global Equity fund, which during his tenure achieved a five star rating from Morningstar and saw its assets grow to €2bn from €190m in 2010. Commenting on the appointment, Schroders head of global equities Alex Tedder said: "He is a genuine stock-picker with an investment approach that is entirely complementary to that of the team."
